About

I possess five years of job experience as a biologist in the fields of zoology and applied wildlife conservation research, as well as project management and data processing. My career so far focused on behavioural and evolutionary ecology. Since 2022 I am working in public administration of the district of Göttingen and am in charge of wildlife conservation at wind power stations. I carry out the species protection examination in the approval procedures for construction and maintenance of wind turbines in the district and the allocation of wind potential areas in regional planning. My work includes extensive knowledge of current species protection law and the biology of species sensitive to wind power, as well as communication with project developers, lawyers and planning offices. Through my studies, I gained profound insights into data acquisition and analysis and goal-oriented project work. I gained international professional experience in various positions in research groups in South Africa and Sweden. As a doctoral student in ecology at the Institute of Zoology at Stockholm University in Sweden, I investigated the influence of resource availability and climate protection on the survival strategies of arctic foxes (Vulpes lagopus) as part of my own project work. After my parental leave in mid-2022, I decided with a heavy heart not to pursue this path any further, to move the center of my life back to Germany and to reorient myself professionally.
